Christian Spirituality
In April 2012, three presenters offered different perspectives on Christian spirituality. Dr. Candy Brown, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at Indiana University, presented an overview of charismatic spirituality, emphasizing the belief in the ongoing presence of God to heal as the true hallmark of the charismatic movement. Kerilyn Harkaway-Krieger, PhD candidate in English and Religious studies presented on the mystical approach to Christianity. Dan Waugh, Associate Pastor of Adult Ministries, presented on the churchly & sacramental approach to spirituality, using a little known figure from American history, John Williamson Nevin, as a window into this form of spirituality.
