Adult Community Groups (Sunday Morning Classes)

As part of the larger church, Adult Community Groups are mid-sized communities of Christ-followers who are committed to receiving, equipping, and sending disciples into the world.

ACGs provide a wonderful opportunity to connect with others, enjoy fellowship, and learn in community. There is a diverse selection of classes offered.  Below is a list of the ACGs and their current topics.

The Belayers. Starting January 6th, Dan Waugh will begin teaching a six-week series, “Christ in Us”. As believers, our union with Christ is one of the most important, encouraging, and life changing realities. Yet, this theme is seldom considered in any depth. In this series we’ll investigate the biblical theme of being ‘in Christ’ in the Old & New Testaments, thinking about what it means for our salvation, our progression in holiness, our connection to the church, and our future hope. Meeting in Room 18.

Perspectives. Starting January 6th, John Mangrum will begin a six-week series, “Evangelism for the Rest of Us”. Let’s be honest, talking about evangelism is a sure way to stir up feelings of guilt and fear in most Christians. Our hope is that this Bible study will help alleviate some of those fears as we consider several New Testament models for “spreading the good news.” Meeting in Room 14/15.

Financial Peace University. Starting January 20th, a team of facilitators will guide students through Dave Ramsey’s series on gaining financial peace. This class brings biblical wisdom to bear on personal finances in a way that has transformed many people’s lives. Materials do need to be purchased for this class. Please sign up in the Gathering Space!

11:00 am Sunday

Koinonia. Starting January 6th, Dan Waugh will lead the class in a six-week series “How True is True? A Study on Inerrancy.” The class will wrestle with the meaning of inerrancy as well as challenges to the doctrine from the fields of science, history, linguistics, anthropology, New Testament studies and church history. Whether you think you know what inerrancy means or if you have no idea, or whether you think inerrancy is a given in evangelical theology or a relic of the modern era, this class is sure to stimulate thought and discussion. Meeting in Room 18.

Hispanic Ministry. Room 17. A great team of people leads this ACG in studies on various topics throughout the year and the whole group enjoys the fellowship.

Financial Peace University. Starting January 20th, a team of facilitators will guide students through Dave Ramsey’s series on gaining financial peace.
